Lydiard Park is amongst a number of country parks that combine with the Great Western Community Forest and Areas of Outstanding Beauty to give Swindon a distinctly green tinge.

Lydiard Park, the ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke, is currently undergoing a £5m landscape restoration supported by The Heritage Lottery Fund. Soon to be on the UK's garden "A" list, this 260 acre historic park and the beautifully restored Georgian house welcomes visitors all year round. It demonstrates how Swindon is transforming itself and making the most of its historic assets.
