Shopping
Where to start?
With a thriving and bustling town centre and out-of-town shopper’s paradise at the Outlet Centre, plus small bespoke and specialist shops in the Old Town, Swindon provides a comprehensive shopping experience.
Up on the hill
The Old Town which sits on Swindon Hill overlooking the town centre, has maintained its market town character, with traditional shops, restaurants, old pubs and traders situated in a network of streets making for a delightfully pleasant area.
Down in the town
The Town Centre has many shopping attractions with major retailers and high street names situated in close proximity to car parks, bus terminus and railway station. The town centre is gearing-up for significant improvements with the addition of new library, gallery, plazas and more outlets planned for in the next few years.
Shoppers paradise
Away from the town centres there are a number of places to shop. A permanent fixture in England’s shopping landscape is the Swindon Designer Outlet where over 90 designer label shops congregate and shoppers enjoy discounts of up to 50% off top brands. There are also a number of large out-of-town retail parks catering for those essential shopping trips.
There are many markets in and out of town and also in surrounding towns and villages.
The Shop Mobility service is available for anyone with limited mobility and provides a selection of manual and powered wheelchairs and scooters for use in the Town Centre.
