By Road
The M4 motorway runs east to London (1 hour 20 minutes) via Reading (30 minutes), and west to Bath (40 minutes), Bristol (50 minutes) and South Wales. By taking the M5 via the M4 the South West English counties of Somerset, Devon and Cornwall are within striking distance.
The A419 trunk road links the town to Cheltenham and the M5 going north to the Midlands. Birmingham can be reached in about 100 minutes. To the south Salisbury, Poole and the south coast are accessible from the A350 running south.
By Coach
There is a regular National Express service to London (Victoria) and to Heathrow Airport from Swindon. Further details can be obtained by contacting on 0870 5808080. Megabus operate an even-less-thrills-than-expected coach service that runs twice a day from Swindon to London (the earlier you book, the cheaper your seats).
